Moving out and moving on...

On the plate:  A fantastic homemade Indian meal hosted by our dear friends Roshni and Sandesh.  It was a little send off dinner with our neighborhood friends and it was incredibly delicious!  I was saddened to move away from our friends, but it was at least comforting to know that we're only 20 minutes away from each other.  What a great night!

Arhan, Lucy, Alexander, and Sanders doing some yoga
directed by our friend Kate in an attempt to calm the kids down.
They were all very excited to be playing together with
one another.

They were anxiously awaiting the next yoga move.
"Lift your hands up, y'all!" :)
It held their attention for a good 5 minutes. :)
The kiddos doing yoga

One of the last things we took down - Alexander's
photo wall and measuring board.  We tried our best
to keep Alexander's room looking the same while
we were packing, so as to maintain some normalcy
amongst all of the boxes.
William was kicking his feet in excitement for the move.
Alexander, dancing around the front of our house
one last time.
"Cheeeeeeese!"
The last bath at our old house.  Yes...I was getting
very sentimental.
Moving day!!  Thankfully my sister was there to help us out with the
kids during the move.  We moved on Marathon Monday, which, in
Boston is a state holiday (but it's referred to as Patriot's Day).
The movers came at 7:45 a.m. and worked like gang busters to get us
moved out of our house in a timely fashion.  It took them about 4 1/2
hours to disassemble our furniture and pack up our belongings onto
their truck.  We had SO much stuff that they actually had to get a second
truck to accommodate all of our things.
Here's Kristen, Alexander, Me, and William, eating our last meal at
the old house.  Thanks SO much for your help, Weez!!
We watched a lot of Thomas the Tank Engine on DVD that morning
so that Alexander wouldn't get in the movers' way.
Our little familia

One last family picture in front of our old place.
*Sigh*  We didn't get completely sentimental
until moving day.  Then we started sharing memories
with one another such as:
-Awww, this was where we brought home both of our babies.
-Alexander took his first steps and rode his first bicycle here.
And the list goes on and on...this was a great place.
Unfortunately, we had to be moved out of our place by Tuesday morning at 10 a.m.  We decided that there was going to be no way that we would have all of our stuff moved out by 10 a.m., which is why we decided to move out of our place Monday morning.  As we were saying good bye to the house, the Boston Marathon was going on.  It wasn't until we started driving to our hotel in the early afternoon, that Joseph noticed a lot of fire engines and ambulances driving in the opposite direction towards the city.  (Since we were moving that day, we were completely disconnected and didn't have Internet or cable access.)  It wasn't until we got to the hotel and turned on the television, that we saw the horrific bombings that took place during the marathon.
We were absolutely shocked that that had transpired, but were thankful that we were out of harm's way.
Here's William doing his best yoga moves.  Lol!
I LOVE those chunky little thighs!

Since we had a lot of time to kill, Alexander and I
had a lot of fun running around the hotel.  We explored
all of the floors and played on the elevator while
Kristen watched William and Joseph finished up some
tests at the lab.
Here I am, giving William a bath in the sink at the hotel.
As you can tell by his protruding bottom lip, he didn't
like the bath in the sink at all.

Alexander, however, enjoyed his bubble bath in the
hotel tub quite a bit!  :)
Moving day!!  We moved into our brand new place on
Tuesday, April 16!!  It felt like this day would never come.
We decided to keep Oscar at the trainer's house so
that he wouldn't be bothered by so many people in the house
and so that he wouldn't get in the way.
Joseph and the boys in front of our new place!
In order to keep the kids out of the movers' way,
I had to keep them in our master bath.
Here's Alexander, sitting in our bath tub on a comforter
watching some Thomas the Tank Engine on DVD (because
we didn't have Internet access yet).
Here's William in the pack and play in our bathroom.
And here's ME!  It seemed like a reeeeealllly long
morning, being trapped in the bathroom with the boys.
But, at least we were finally moved into our dream home!
I couldn't wait to unpack the boxes and get settled.
Thankfully, Joseph was home pretty much full time and we were completely unpacked and out of boxes in 2 weeks and settled.  It's so nice to make this place our home and I can't wait for all of the new memories that we'll make together!  Until next time...

Love and kisses,
Nikki
