Month of June Part 4: Joseph's Last Week of Freedom

The month of June was a great month for us.  Joseph finally got some much needed vacation after a rough go in his residency.  We enjoyed a great vacation with both of our families and had fun with our friends and their children.  With all of that activity, we were ready to go back home and have some quality time with our little family.
As soon as we got back from vacation, it was Father's Day.  Joseph got to sleep in that morning, and was then surprised with presents and cards from the boys.
Joseph being greeted by all of our boys (Oscar included)
with cards and presents for Father's Day.
Hugs and kisses from Alex and William, while Oscar
saw his window to attack the tissue paper while no
one was looking.
Happy Father's Day, Jojo!!  We love you so much and
are so blessed to have you in our lives.
The weather was finally warm enough to break out the water table, splash around, and begin to have some summer fun!
Alex sharing some squirt toys with William.
Water table fun!
Our cheeky little William.
Alex was watering our plants in the garden with his water gun.
Lunch time!!  That afternoon, I made lunch for me and the
boys, and we ate it out on the patio.  William loooooves
edamame and kept asking for more.
On June 23, we packed the boys into the car and headed up to Ipswich to go to Crane Beach.  Unfortunately it was overcast that day, but we still made the most of it.
Joseph and the boys, getting ready to play at the beach.
The boys loved running up and down the walkway to the beach.
There they go!
The boys running up and down the walk way to Crane Beach.
It wasn't really that warm out (barely 80 degrees F),
but we decided to check out the water anyways.
The water was very cold!!
This kiddo is a real trooper!  He wanted to go into the
water so badly that he braved the extremely cold water temps
in order to splash around.

"You see, Mom and Dad!"  The water's not so bad!"

(Except for the fact that our legs went numb as soon as
we entered!)  :-p
Alex proved to us that he was a real water baby
and went swimming and splashed around.
This kid would be the perfect candidate for a Polar Bear Plunge!
Our little fishy.
William, however, wasn't feeling up to swimming in
frigid water.  He thoroughly enjoyed digging sand and
putting it into his bucket.
First official baby belly pic!!  A friend of mine had
mentioned that I had not posted any pictures of my baby
belly, and she wanted to see it.  So, here I am at the beach
at 24 weeks pregnant with baby number 3!  :-)
Alex helped me collect different types of shells
while Joseph and William made these sand castles.
Afterwards, we went to a delightful Greek restaurant for lunch with the kiddos.
We rarely have them sitting next to each other at a
restaurant, but they were very well behaved and decided
to snuggle and be cute at the table while we were waiting
for our food.
Our little home slice, being silly in the car.
The next day, the weather was warmer, and the skies were clear.  Instead of going to the ocean, we decided to visit Houghton's Pond.  The water was substantially warmer and much less intimidating to the kiddos since there were no waves and the water was very calm.
Alex and Joseph practicing swimming together.
William really loves scooping up sand and putting it
in his bucket.  Then, he empties it and does it all over again.
The water was muuuuuuch more tolerable at Houghton's Pond.

Our little water babies drying off and warming up.
They're so snuggly and cute when they want to be.
On June 25, we thought we'd try something new with the boys.  We took them Putt Putt golfing (and quickly discovered that they're not quite ready for it yet...maybe in two more years)!

hold their club.
Joseph and Alex practicing their putting, while William attempted
a different type of hold.

Our little Boilermaker!
Love our little Boilermakers!  *Toot!  Toot!*  Boiler up!
William, checking out the waterfall below.
And now some time to goof around!
Joseph holding Alex and pretending to play piano together.
The boys found the office chair and decided to
twirl around!  What a bunch of goof balls.  :-)
Silly boys.  :-)
I was modeling one of my mom's most recent pieces
that she had on her website:  www.alexisnoelle.com.

I looooove this red jade necklace and wear it with everything.
Time to visit Lego Land in Somerville!
Me and William, ready to ride an amusement ride together.
I love his little smile.
Alex and Joseph in the cart in front of us.
Parent's night out!!  On June 26, we hired a babysitter
and headed out to dinner with our friends Shikha and Gaurav.

Since we had some time to kill before dinner started,
Joseph and I decided to walk around the waterfront and
look out at the ocean.
Moment of cuteness:
William and Oscar, reunited after William's nap.  Oscar loves it
when the family is awake and all together.
We had a great week of recovery, relaxation, and exploration with Joseph.  We also got a lot of decluttering done in order to prepare our house for some small renovations and to prepare for baby number three's arrival!
The boys, dog and I loved having Joseph home and really relished this quality time that we had together.
Until next time...

Love and kisses,
Nikki
