March Part 2: Oscar's 10th birthday, Easter, Purim, and Much More!

The second part of March was a super duper purge from my phone, so please bear with me.  We had Oscar's 10th birthday, Easter, Purim, coffee dates, play dates, parents' night out, and all sorts of fun stuff.  So, sit back, grab a cup of coffee, tea, or a glass of wine, and enjoy!  ;-)
My life is so glamorous that I always have
someone's foot or hand up in my face.  :-P
Miss P giving me her brand of kisses on March 15.

Muchas smooches on March 16 from Miss P.

On March 16, our darling fur baby Oscar turned 10 years old!  We normally celebrate this occasion by giving him a cheeseburger and fries for dinner.  Unfortunately, with his new health issues, we can no longer give him any animal protein.  So, we had to give him a modified special treat for his birthday.  We were so happy that he was able to celebrate another birthday.
Singing "Happy Birthday" to our darling little fur child, Oscar.
He enjoyed some rugelach (a pastry) and white nectarine (his favorite fruit)
for his birthday treat.
Playing around after dinner.

February 22, 2016 - Penelope discovered her feet during tubby time!

Our little Boilermakers were ready to cheer on the
Boilermakers during March madness this year.
Joseph was home one morning, so we decided to have
breakfast together at one of our favorite diners, Rox Diner,
while the big boys were at school.

Miss P helped Joseph decide what to have for breakfast.

I love how bitty she was, plopped on top of the table.

Little Miss P fell fast asleep while I was reading to the boys
one afternoon.  I love her juicy little lips.  :-)

Penelope being silly on March 17.

At William's school, there was a naughty leprechaun that visited and left 100 frogs all around the classroom.  So, he and Alex wanted to set up a leprechaun trap at our own home that evening.  It was Alex's idea to get a bunch of green colored vegetables to lure the leprechaun into the trap.  Then, Alex wrote a note for the leprechaun as well.
William wearing his leprechaun glasses at school.
The boys were excited to catch the leprechaun.

Alex even set up a little "TV" (to the left) for the leprechaun
to watch that evening.

The leprechaun visited!!

Alex reading the note that the leprechaun left.

On March 18, Penelope and I met some of my friends out
for coffee that morning.

My friend Tammy holding a fussy Miss P.

My friend Jennie with her darling daughter, Avangeline
at the coffee shop.
It was so great to see all of them and to catch up.  :-)

March 18 - Miss P is one happy little baby.

Our darling, drooling, little daughter has the most
beautiful eye lashes and rosy cheeks.

I love her happy, gummy smile.

On March 18, our friend Erika found out that she matched for residency in Boston!  We were so thrilled to have her here, that we went out and celebrated!  Woo hoo!  Parent's night on the town!!
Peter, Me, Sanjat, and Joseph having some good old fashioned fun.
We've known these guys for about 11 years.

The beautiful Liz made it out that evening as well.  :-)

I confiscated Sanjat's Kangol hat - a doppelgänger for the one
that I used to wear out all the time in college.

Lovin' the Kangol...those were the good ol' days!

Irun, Me, and Liz....oddly enough, I never got a picture
with Erika that evening, but I did get a picture with her husband! (Irun)
Congratulations, Erika!!  We're so overjoyed that you're closer to us now!

The next day, Alex had a friend's birthday party to go to.
Thankfully, his friend allowed him to bring his siblings.
Penelope dressed up for the event.

March 19 - The boys had a blast at a Karate birthday party.

Time to break some boards!
Alex and his friends, bowing.

William joined in.

Little Miss P, checking herself out in her tummy time mirror.

We got some unexpected snow on March 21, so after
dropping Alex off at school, William played around
in the neighbor's yard for a bit.

He loved it!

Our angel making a snow angel.
Since Alex had a long day at school, William helped me to make some Hamantaschen dough for Purim.
My sous chef for the afternoon while Penelope was taking a nap.
March 21 - William and Penelope enjoyed chatting with one another.

After we mixed the dough, I wrapped it up and let it
rest for an hour.

Which was perfect timing, because Miss P woke up!

Love her little dimples.  :-)

Milk drunk little angel.
March 22 - Sweet little Miss P
There's nothing like some warm baby snuggles to make all your cares go away.

After we picked up Alex from school that afternoon, I quickly (and I mean super quickly) rolled out the dough to prepare it for the boys to help me out.  (If I had had my druthers, I would have rolled the dough out much thinner, but desperate times called for desperate measures.)
The boys helping me out with the Hamantaschen.

We made Hamantaschen with the following combinations:
Peanut butter with marshmallows
Cookie butter with marshmallows
Peanut butter and chocolate chips
Cookie butter with chocolate chips
Peanut butter with apricot jam

After baking in a 350 degree oven, this is how the
cookies turned out.  They definitely weren't the prettiest, but
they tasted absolutely delicious!  Next time, I will definitely
roll out the dough into a thinner consistency.

They were not the prettiest cookies, but they were absolutely
delicious!  The cookie butter ones with chocolate chips
were my favorite.  Hopefully next year, I'll be able to roll
the dough out to a thinner consistency in order to have prettier cookies.
Janie and Jack were having a sale and I could NOT
resist picking up these shades for Penelope.
She knew she looked good.  Work it, girl!

William approved of the Hamantaschen.

So did Alex!

Two thumbs up!
March 23 - Our cutie patootie

On March 24, we boiled some eggs and the boys were
hard at work decorating Easter eggs.  They chose a
Star Wars decorating kit.
Daddy/daughter bonding time at the end of the night.

Penelope and I hung out in the basement around 5 a.m.
since she was ready to rock and roll for the morning and the
boys weren't up yet.

Alex and Penelope holding hands while watching a movie
one afternoon.

It's so sweet to see the love that they have for each other.

Joseph had to work this particular weekend, so I had
to pack all of the kids in the car to go to the boys' swimming
lessons at BU.  Penelope was a real trooper and slept
almost the entire time that the boys were swimming.
They love their swimming class!
Hanging with Miss P in the basement March 26.
One afternoon, the boys were watching a movie with
Joseph while he was working.  Poor little William was
so tired that he fell asleep, snuggled against Joseph.
This almost never happens.
Little Miss P playing with some stacking rings
while the boys took a nap one afternoon.

Happy Easter 2015!!  The boys were so excited
to dig into their Easter baskets that Grandpa and Mama B
got them (Thanks Mom and Dad!).  Oscar desperately
wanted to dig into their baskets as well.  :-)

The boys checking out their loot...Oscar helped out, too.
March 27 - The kiddos looking through their Easter baskets.
The boys were chomping at the bit to go Easter egg hunting.
Time to go Easter egg hunting!

The boys were super excited!

Our proud boys with their Easter eggs.

Alex said he was making "bunny ears" in this picture.
Penelope was taking her morning nap while Joseph
enjoyed a cup of coffee while Oscar watched the boys.
William bunny :-)
Penelope and Oscar doing tummy time on William's
old blanket.

Oscar loves Penelope...and sitting on this particular blanket.

Little Miss P fit inside her own basket this Easter.

Our cute little bunny.

Oscar wanted to check on her.  She gave him a nice pat.

Time to dye the Easter eggs!

William did it without a shirt on so he wouldn't
splash the dye on himself.

They did a great job!

Alex the bunny.

After the eggs dried, the boys took Star Wars stickers
and decorated the outside of the eggs.

Alex was very proud of his egg decorating skills.

So was William.

Our little bunnies with their Easter eggs.
Chilling with Miss P on March 27.
Our little darling
Penelope enjoying the jumparoo.
On March 28, Penelope and I visited my friend Stephanie
for coffee and treats while the boys were at school.
It's always so great to see Stephanie and catch up with her.
Penelope took a liking to Stephanie.
William had a great play date with a new friend from class.
They gave each other a big hug and fell to the ground in giggles
as they were saying good bye to one another.

William was over the moon happy that he had such
a great play date with a new friend.  :-)
March 29 - The kiddos enjoyed riding around on their bikes.

Look at them go!
While the boys are away, Miss P helped me catch
up on all of my Real Housewives episodes.
"Ohhhh snap!  No she di'int!!"  :-D

Miss P being adorable at a restaurant.

My sister Kristen captured these great pics.  Thanks Weez! :-)

Alex and William playing around with Alex's classmate Oscar.
The Franses men, hanging out together.

William's teachers set up a store in his classroom.
William quickly decided that he would be in charge
of operating the cash register.
Our little money manager was very protective of his cash register.  :-)

His other favorite thing to play with in school?  The
tool box!  He loooooved it.

Peek-a-boo!  :-)

Our silly William playing with his classmate.

William singing and dancing with his classmates.

One of Penelope's favorite things that she used to do
while I was nursing was to pick at my teeth.  I would spend
an entire nursing session with her picking at my teeth
and grabbing my lips.  I thought this was pretty funny.
The boys never did anything like this.  It's really interesting
to see how each child is truly their own person despite
being from the same parents.
*Phew!*  We've been super busy (obviously), but my goal is to continue to catch up now that life has gotten a little less crazy.  Until next time...

Love and kisses,
Nikki
